Patrick, Mary and Lily

Patrick Finucane lives in the Crown Point area of Pacific Beach with his wife, Mary, their dog Lily and two cats.

Patrick's passion and interest in civil service began at a young age, walking precincts in San Francisco with his parents for local and statewide campaigns. As he grew, so did his enthusiasm for activism and community involvement. In high school Patrick worked as an intern for San Francisco Supervisor Susan Leal. That experience opened his eyes to the potential that City Government has for helping people.

Patrick earned a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. During school he was the president of the Solar Car Club, which designed and built an entirely solar powered car. Patrick was also on Student Council, serving as a representative for the College of Engineering. He is currently employed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as a mechanical engineer.

Patrick has been very active in the community. He spent three years on the board of the Pacific Beach Town Council and continues to be an active member of the Council. Patrick also spent three years as Vice President of the Pacific Beach Community Parking District, where he fought hard to ensure that residents had a voice in city plans to charge residents for parking. Patrick has been a volunteer for the past two years for the Beach Area Community Court, where he represents the community, explaining to violators how their actions affect the residents of the beach area.

Patrick is also on the executive board of the San Diego League of Conservation Voters, whose mission is to protect the environmental quality of the state by working to elect environmentally responsible candidates and hold them accountable to the conservation agenda.
