City Finances

We are still suffering from the corrupt backroom decisions of past politicians, with talk resurfacing of the city underfunding the pension AGAIN.  San Diego stands dangerously close to financial meltdown, and nobody wants to do anything about it.

The culture of City Hall is to try and find short-term patches and then push painful decisions onto future politicians.  This must end.  Our elected leaders need to stop worrying about their next elections, and start actively engaging with us to help clean up our dire financial straits.

Working with labor unions, business leaders, and average citizens, City Hall must enact budgets and financial habits that do not irreparably damage San Diego.  We cannot rely on painful concessions from municipal workers and accounting wizardry to fix our financial pains.
